Hydroelectric power plants.

In a hydroelectric power plant, the functioning is basically the same as in the other power plants we have seen so far: kinetic energy-turbine-transformer.

But in the case of the hydroelectric power plants, kinetic energy is produced by the natural movement of the water stored in a reservoir.

 

 

In Spain, the hydroelectric energy production is very limited. It only covers 15% of the electric consumption (that is, 2,6% of the total energy consumption).

Why do you think the production of the hydroelectric energy is so limited in Spain?
